The Best of Banksy in New York

Banksy in the Bronx

Banksy has been leaving his iconic mark all over the streets of New York recently, gracing those who are lucky enough to stumble across these edgy and provocative pieces with a sliver of his genius.

Having graced cities across the world with his thought- provoking graffiti art, sculptures and art installations since the 1980’s while remaining virtually unseen and unknown by those who follow him, Banksy’s elusiveness has come to be one of the most interesting and fascinating things about the artist.

Mixing imagery relating to anti-war, anti-capitalism, and anti-establishment with humor, Banksy’s pieces seem to produce interesting and stimulating art that has left art consumers and many others increasingly curious about the artist and his forms of expression.

Being an avid art lover myself, it’s easy to see why Banksy’s following and interest in his art has increased over the decades.  His ability to transform ordinary city streets into works of art through his depiction of simple, and sometimes complex societal issues using a variety of media forms is inspiring, to say the least!

Here are just a few of my favorite pieces from “Banksy in NY” so far. I’ll be watching to see where Banksy will turn up next!

Enjoy!
